Speaking with him further, specifically about his injuries, will trigger the side quest The Pain of Being Mercurio. He'll then ask the fledgling to retrieve both the explosive and his money, which will trigger the Surf's Up quest. Speak with him to learn that he was jumped by some thugs down by the beach while trying to purchase some Astrolite explosive. Enter the building.Ī trail of blood leads the fledgling to apartment #4, where they'll find Mercurio lying broken and battered on his couch. Once outside, a short cutscene will show an injured Mercurio crawling into his apartment building. This will activate the Carnival of Death questline.
