Plus it is neat to explore Alexandria and see the areas in the city which are much prettier looking thanks to the mod's AI scaling.
There is good pacing however in the start of the game to when you leave the Evil Forest, so far as early parts of a game are concerned, FF9's holds up.
Vivi is just tagging along for the ride as everything that happens is mostly out of his control :V The game's start is rather 'slow', and yet it's still good from a narrative point as it introduces the characters and their motivations, well at least Steiner, Garnet and Zidane. I've been trying a few ways to deal with the aspect ration switch during some scenes in the game but to no avail, still I hope these images do a good job of capturing just how lovely this game looks with the additional clarity from utilize AI Scaling. Final Fantasy IX may just be among my top 5 FF games, granted there isn't anything that grandoise about its gameplay and combat system, but its setting, themes, characters and music have stuck with me for years and overall, far as traidtional jRPGs go, it's a good game of that genre and worth playing if you want something on the lighter side of rpg gameplay.įacing choice paralysis on what to play next, I decided to just dl the mod and go through the game again, and man does the Moguri Mod's visual improvements help bring out how pretty this game can look!
